Post Production Roles: Director, Post Supervisor, Editor

Kraken Clash! is the second animated piece I directed for NuBoom Studios’ Bit Wars for Lightbox Expo 2024. Co-Writing once again with the Executive Producer Stuart, we wanted to exhibit our antagonists just as much as our heroes. Once again, from script and storyboard, to final edit and animation, as Director I worked with the showrunner Ren, and the Executive Producer Stuart, to drive our team toward a unified narrative vision - though this time, with a twist. With the addition of our internal animation team, as a studio we worked together to build on the visual language we made with Split Studio. It became apparent that we had shot for the stars at 11 minutes, and so we quickly paired down to a shorter 2 minute piece. As the editor and director, it was my mission to keep the heart of the story, and work with the team to problem solve gaps in the narrative since there was less setup. Ultimately while the piece is rougher due to the timeline, we’re happier with where it landed for LBX 2024.

Now we’re working on improving the piece and adding more to it until LBX 2025! So, I’m excited to keep directing, editing, timing boards, sound designing, and compositing.
